The 2011 ride was a tremendous success, with plenty of joyful and supportive onlookers and great cooperation from the local police.  We look forward to another great ride in 2012. 

Shortly after the Ride, the Madison Common Council considered a new law which would have all but criminalized the Ride.  Though intended to increase penalties for genuinely lewd and anti-social behavior, it was written so broadly as to make a wide swath of socially conscious behavior (as well as normal private conduct) illegal.  Thanks to the efforts of several citizens, many of them Ride participants, the law was amended prior to passage to more narrowly focus on truly deviant behavior.
